Project Overview
This project started as a discussion around aging in place and what it means to have a life after a severe loss. The owner of this rental property owned the house for long time while living somewhere else with his wife and kids. After the wife’s passing, the owner wanted to downsize and contacted us to remodel the rental house. Based on the clients’ desire to travel, entertain and having family visit from abroad this extensive remodel was envisioned as a single level residence, connected to the garden and existing pool ( the client loves to swim ) with a newly added garage with a small ADU ( Accessory Dwelling Unit ) that one day could house the owner or a caretaker and in the meantime allows for family and grand children to visit.
