Project Overview:

Envisioned around the philosophy of international acclaimed artist, Natalie Jeremijenko, a mutualistic (when two organisms of different species “work together,” each benefiting from the relationship) project where people are allowed to work and collaborate, in nature,  under the “direction” of a tree.  Marcel and 10 students worked on the design and fabrication of this modular and re-locatable object. It was on display in downtown Boulder city park and then was moved to campus. The project involved high-tech fabrication of custom steel parts through plasma cutting and water jetting, 3d Lidar scanning of existing tree as well as innovative structural assembly systems.
